Usually I like to write private reflections that go into a lot of detail, including about the people that I’ve had the fortune (or misfortune) to meet. But, for a change, I decided to do my reflections in a more public setting, to maybe better distill what I’ve experienced and learnt throughout four years of higher education.
So yes, I know, Skyrim is 5 years old. I know that Special Edition is less of a true remaster and more of a money grab disguised as a makeover. But I’ve always wanted to play Skyrim and decided to get it.
Many, many hours later, I wish I haven’t started this brilliant time-suck of a game because it’s becoming a bit of an obsession.
I’m from sunny Singapore, but pretty much everyone across the globe has been hanging on to news of the U.S. presidential elections. Now the dust has settled and the Republicans have a hold of the House, Senate and the Oval Office, it’s time to think about how populism has defined the politics of today and whether the world is going to survive.
Can’t we just take off a couple more sins for the airport scene?
Yea, Zemo’s plan was convoluted and hinged on so many coincidences. But at least it was an enjoyable movie…right?
Went to IKEA and got some frames for my posters. It’s the Marietorp frame, which was pretty much the cheapest poster frame I could find from there. It’s not of the best quality, but it works just fine.
Trying to put my posters in straight was an exercise in hell, and I’m still quite sure some of them are a little crooked inside. My dad helped me mount them, and they look much better than without frames. That, and the Blue-tack was just useless at holding the posters up.
It seems a little dumb for me to build a gaming PC but not actually play games. Of course, I want to, but I often spend my time re-reading fanfiction instead of playing games, or catching up on movies or TV shows.
(Yea, I’m a weirdo.)
Anyway, I recently bought a whole bunch of games during Steam’s Summer Sale, and I decided randomly to just give Portal a go. And man oh man, am I glad I bought the game and played it.
The Obamas are pretty much the coolest Presidential couple I’ve ever seen. Well, Justin Trudeau might give them a run for their money in the years to come. But still.
I think internationally, most observers don’t get the hate so many Americans have for Obama. Some of it is warranted of course; I definitely don’t condone the drone strikes. But his work in the White House has been hampered by the Republicans since they retook the House and Senate just two years into his tenure, and he’s struggled to compromise and push through relevant reforms. Still, he’s not the worst US President by a long shot. Especially not when Trump is in the race to replace him.
I sometimes have terrible backaches after sitting at my desk for long hours in bad postures. So I decided to raise the height of my chair, consciously remind myself to sit straighter, and bought a foot rest so my feet won’t be dangling uncomfortably off the ground.
Thanks to a very nice reader of mine, I’ve been informed of a mass stealing of fanfiction off fanfiction.net. This is quite troubling, since the perpetrators apparently mirrored everything on the site, including all the original stories painstakingly and meticulously written by so many authors.
I loved the first one, and this one looks promising too. Just some mindless entertainment for 2 hours. Daniel Radcliffe looks like he’ll be great fun to watch too.
