Audi Just Invented Fuel Made From CO₂ and Water

TIME

An Audi research facility in Dresden, Germany, has managed to create the first batches of diesel fuel with a net-zero carbon footprint — made from carbon dioxide (CO2), water and renewable energy sources such as wind or solar power.

Germany’s government has welcomed the new technology, created in partnership with a greentech company called Sunfire. Johanna Wanka, Germany’s Federal Minister of Education and Research, even test drove the fuel and called it, “a crucial contribution to climate protection and the efficient use of resources,” according to an Audi press release.

Manufacturing involves first breaking down steam into hydrogen and oxygen through high-temperature electrolysis. The hydrogen then reacts with CO2 to create a liquid called “blue crude.” This is then refined to make the e-diesel.

A visual infographic released by Audi explains the steps in detail.

This Video About Samsung’s Crazy History Will Blow Your Mind

Holy crap. Samsung is 17% of South Korea’s GDP? That’s insane.

TIME

Samsung may be known as one of the world’s largest producers of computer chips, smartphones and television sets — but that doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of this ever-expanding conglomerate.

Samsung’s operation is so massive it even includes a defense department that manufactures tanks, according to a YouTube series that tries to get a handle on the what the world’s largest companies actually make.

The South Korean conglomerate proved to be one of the hardest companies to classify, given its sprawl across a variety of industries, including hotels, petrochemicals and life insurance.

Stop Saying “I’m So Broke” – CollegeHumor

They’ve released a bunch of videos mocking millennials for saying phrases like “I’m so old.” or “They ruined my childhood.”, and those were pretty funny, even if they hit home a little hard.

But this one…ugh.

I keep telling myself to spend less money on things I don’t need, but it can be hard to resist the temptation (despite my thrift in the past). Seriously, CollegeHumor. Stop making me feel bad about myself!

Fantastic Four – Trailer

Hmmm….

It’s…not bad.

I like that there’s some decent humour in it. Very Marvel, very Avengers like. The main cast looks to have a good chemistry. But…there’s something missing. It’s a very polished trailer hinting at a very polished film, but other than that, I don’t feel much excitement. It’s all very, dare I say it, formulaic.

Maybe the sequel will be better. Because there will be one.
